What is Kratom and is it Safe?

Kratom, also known as Mitragyna Speciosa are plants that belong to the coffee family (Rubiaceae).

With a long lasting history in Southeast Asia, but not scientifically proven in the USA, Kratom's leaves have been known to be used for various medical purposes, blocking pain as well as their stimulant energized effects on the body.

In recent years, kratom tea has gained popularity in the natural health community for its natural pain-relieving properties and to elevate mood.

Though it’s legal in most States, there are safety concerns regarding kratom tea and other kratom-based products, which have made some people wary about using it. We always caution people to always check with their physician and to always research if Kratom is right for them.

This article explores kratom tea, including its effects, safety, and risks.

What is a Kratom Strain?

Kratom tea is traditionally made by brewing leaves from the kratom tree (Mitragyna speciosa).  It’s native to parts of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.  Kratom also goes by other names, including Maeng Da, Green Malay and Bed Bali.  Some people will say that certain strains have certain properties.  According to BigBrainCBD.COM the following chart shows the various effects of the colored strains:

Traditionally, field workers would chew on kratom leaves to help increase their energy and endurance, aid their heat tolerance, and relieve fatigue.  These leaves are also used as an herbal remedy to treat various illnesses, including coughing, diarrhea, diabetes, and high blood pressure (not scientifically proven). Kratom leaves are typically chewed, crushed, and brewed into tea. However, nowadays kratom leaves are ground and used to make pills and powders.

The taste of kratom is extremely bitter and thus is very hard to ingest.  Most people search for whats the best way to take kratom and to hide the taste by mixing it with a tea or with juice, however, the lingering bitter taste remains in your mouth for a long time.

There is finally a solution to masking 99% of the taste of Kratom and that is Candid flavored Kratom.  There are many articles on the Internet talking about 5 ways to make kratom tea taste better or how to mask kratom's taste effectively.  All of those articles still do not solve the extreme bitter taste as well as the non soluble portion of kratom.
